Practica & Physical Activity Courses (PRA/PAC)

The Practica (PRA) & Physical Activity Core (PAC) courses are a required component of the undergraduate program.  Each rotation contains a variety of activity units which students rotate through as the term progresses.  Course descriptions are available in the FPEH Undergraduate Program Calendar.

Enrolment

Enrolment in Practica & Physical Activity Core (PAC) rotations will commence on ROSI starting July 7, 2010 at 6 a.m.  Choose the available PRA/PAC section that interests you the most. Enrolment is on a first come, first served basis and there are no waiting lists available for full sections.

Safety & Equipment Requirements

Faculty regulations require that proper safety equipment and appropriate attire be worn while participating in physical activity. Both instructors and students have a major responsibility to ensure the safety of activity courses and this is regarded as an important aspect of the total learning experience. All sport specific game and safety equipment (i.e. racquets, goggles, shin guards, bats, helmets) will be provided, however students may also bring their own.  Non-marking shoes must be worn for all hardwood surface gyms and courts (SG, SC, UG, FS). Students must come prepared to participate in all activities on the first day by bringing appropriate equipment and attire (i.e. T-shirt & shorts, bring swimsuits for aquatics, etc.).

Rotations Attendance Ruling

The 2010-11 Rotations Attendance Ruling will be available in early August.

Accessibility Needs and Injuries

Students with specific accessibility needs, disabilities and/or injuries must inform the FPEH Undergraduate Program Office and consult with Dave Cooper to arrange alternate accommodations to meet the physical activity degree requirements.  Early notification is preferred so appropriate accommodations can be organized.  Documentation from an appropriate physician or specialist is required.
