PHE Alumni
Graduation may be the end of the student life, but it is also a new beginning – becoming a U of T alumnus. We love hearing from you! As you advance through your life and career, we’d like you to stay in touch with us. Ask us career and professional questions. Give or attend a guest lecture. Tell us about your family or travels. We want to know what our alumni are doing.
If you’re looking to get involved and give back to the Faculty, we have plenty of opportunities listed below.
Governance
Join the PHE Alumni Association! We also have alumni in representative positions on Faculty Council and the following standing committees: Admissions, Curriculum, Examinations and Awards. Alumni representation is also sought for special projects such as task forces and search committees.Student Recruitment
The Faculty is always looking for the best students we can find. You can help by informing us about promising students who may be interested in studying at FPEH. In addition, representatives participate in a more formal manner during the annual OAC Open House during March Break.Guest Lectures and Career Talks
Alumni experience and expertise can greatly enhance the understanding our students have of life after university. Career talks are sponsored by the undergraduate association and faculty members are often looking for external viewpoints.Financial Support
The generosity of PHE alumni has provided the cornerstone for scholarships in the undergraduate program. Annual gifts to the PHE Varsity Fund support the Reception for Scholars, which recognizes outstanding leadership and academic achievement. These funds also assist with the alumni magazine and bi-annual participation of two students at the International Congress on Sports Sciences for Students at the Hungarian University of Physical Education in Budapest. Reunions and Golf Tournaments
Interested in catching up with your old classmates? We can help you hold a reunion or golf tournament by providing mailing lists, telephone numbers, and guidance. Reunions may happen anytime through out the year. Graduates are encouraged to celebrate their special dates – every five years out from graduation – at Spring Reunion, the first weekend of June. The university provides a wide range of activities including a Saturday afternoon garden party at the president’s house. For more information please visit www.springreunion.utoronto.ca/reunion.htmR. Tait McKenzie Society
Were you at the top of your class? The R. Tait McKenzie Society is the Faculty’s academic honour society and admission is open to those who stand among the first six in academic rank for their year. University of Toronto admission scholars and winners of the Jean Forster Entrance Scholarships are also admitted in their year of entrance. The Society brings outstanding students together with faculty for social evenings of scholarly and professional interest.Contact:
