Jacquie van Ierssel
Jacquie van Ierssel graduated from the department of physical therapy at the University of Toronto in 1998, after first obtaining a bachelor of physical education degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1994. Jacquie has gone on to complete post-graduate diplomas in both advanced orthopaedics and sports physiotherapy, earning her FCAMT in 2004 and SPC diploma in 2007. She has complemented her advanced orthopaedic manual therapy skills with certification in acupuncture from the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, and is a nationally-accredited certified strength and conditioning specialist and a certified sports first responder.
As a sport physiotherapist at the MacIntosh Clinic, Jacquie has extensive experience working with athletes from a provincial development level through to and including Olympic athletes. An avid athlete herself, Jacquie has been a competitive athlete in cross country mountain biking at a national level, and represented the U of T as a nordic skier at an intercollegiate level.
Jacquie currently enjoys academic status as a clinical instructor at the U of T’s department of physical therapy, where she conducts guest lectures and provides clinical supervision of students.
