Jean-Loup Chappelet

Jean-Loup Chappelet
Jean-Loup Chappelet is Professor of Public Management at the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP – Institut de Hautes Etudes en Administration Publique) associated to the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He obtained a PhD from the University of Montpellier, France, and a MSc from Cornell University, New York, where he held teaching and research positions. In the 1980s he worked for five years as head of the IT department within the International Olympic Committee administration. He was the technical director of the candidatures of Sion, Switzerland, for the 2002 and 2006 Winter Games. His most recent book, co-authored with Brenda Kübler-Mabbott, is entitled “The International Olympic Committee and the Olympic System: The Governance of World Sport” (2008).

Andrew Jennings

Andrew Jennings
Andrew Jennings is an investigative journalist who began writing books on the curious relationship between London's top gangster and the city's top detective. He made a one-hour documentary the BBC refused to show so quit and, with Paul Greengrass (United 93, The Bourne Ultimatum), remade it in 1986 for Granada TV's World In Action programme. After 20 years elsewhere Andrew was welcomed back into the bosom of the BBC with the Panorama programme. His books on the Olympics and international sport include: The Lords of the Rings (1992), The New Lords of the Rings: Olympic Corruption & How to Buy Gold Medals (1996), The Great Olympic Swindle (2000), and Foul! The Secret World of FIFA: Bribes, Vote-rigging and Ticket Scandals (2006).

John J. MacAloon

John MacAloon
John J. MacAloon is Professor and Academic Associate Dean of Social Sciences at the University of Chicago. One of the world's leading Olympic scholars, he served on the Executive Committee of the IOC 2000 Reform Commission. Holder of the Olympic Order, Prof. MacAloon's most recent publications include a new edition of his classic This Great Symbol (Routledge, 2008), the edited collection Muscular Christianity in Colonial and Postcolonial Worlds (Routledge 2008), and "Legacy as Magical Discourse in Contemporary Olympic Affairs" (IJHS). He presently serves as a member of the International Relations team of the Chicago 2016 Olympic bid.

Sam Ramsamy

Sam Ramsamy
Sam Ramsamy, born in Durban, South Africa, has been a member of the International Olympic Committee since 1995 and a member of the Executive Board since 2006. He has been involved in South African and international sport in several capacities, including as a member of the South African Non-Racial Olympic Committee in exile (SANROC 1976-1990), President of Swimming South Africa (1991-1996), President of the National Olympic Committee of South Africa (1991-2005), and Vice-President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA). He was also a member of the IOC 2000 Commission Reform.

Johann Olav Koss
Johann Olav Koss is four-time Olympic Gold medalist in speed skating and is currently the President of Right To Play, a humanitarian organization committed to improving the lives of the children through sport. He was a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athlete's Commission from 1998 to 2002 and was on the Medical Commission and the executive board of the IOC 2000 Commission handling issues of reform. He also served as a founding board and executive board member of the World Anti-Doping Agency (2000 to 2002) where he initiated the Athlete anti-doping passport. In 1994 he was appointed Special Representative for Sport for UNICEF International. He completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Queensland, and recently completed his executive MBA at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.

Alexandra Orlando
Alexandra Orlando represented Canada at the 2008 Olympic in Beijing in Rhythmic Gymnastics. She placed ninth overall at the 2007 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, is the 2008 Pacific Rim Champion, won three gold medals at the 2007 Pan Am Games, and is a five-time Canadian Rhythmic Gymnastics Senior National Champion. Orlando has been recognized as the 2006 Commonwealth Games Canada “Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year” winner. She is also the co-author of In Pursuit of Victory, one of six books in a series on Canadian National athletes. Orlando is currently serving as the Athlete Representative on the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games Bid Board of Directors.

Ann Peel
Ann Peel is a former international class racewalker who competed for Canada in the 1980s. Early in her career she became an advocate for athletes and for women's full participation in sport. Among other efforts, and with much support, she led a successful international campaign for the inclusion of the women's racewalk in international competitions and co-founded Athletes CAN in 1991. She now works with young athletes to educate them about the conditions under which they play sports, coaches, and celebrates her children's achievements. She is the Director of the Institute at Havergal College

Richard Pound

Richard (Dick) Pound
Richard Pound has enjoyed a prolific 50-year career as an Olympic athlete, tax lawyer, business leader, sports ambassador, and academic contributor. He represented Canada as a swimming competitor at the 1960 Olympics and 1962 Commonwealth Games, earning one gold, two silver, and one bronze medals). Pound obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (McGill University, 1962), a Bachelor of Arts (Sir George Williams University, now Concordia University, 1963), a Licentiate in Accounting (McGill, 1964), and a Bachelor of Civil Law (McGill, 1967). Pound was President of the Canadian Olympic Committee (1977-1982), has been a member of the International Olympic Committee since 1978, served as an Executive Member of the Organizing Committee for the 25th Winter Olympics in Calgary, and served as chair of the World Anti-Doping Agency. Pound was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1993 and has served as Chancellor of McGill University since 1999.
